KYFR Culvert Project

For years, to cross the creek on KYFR's transmitter site to get to towers 3 and 4, we had to use an old, rotting, dangerous suspension bridge.

It was decided to install a culvert to allow water flow, and for the first time, let vehicles drive easily to our other towers. Up the creek, further north we found just the right spot for the culvert. The pictures below show the first step...bulldoze across the area to prepare for laying the culvert pipe.

Once the area is prepared, the 60 foot culvert is brought in and dropped into position. The bulldozers and backhoes go back to work and the pipe is covered.

The job is complete and now KYFR staff in cars, trucks or tractors and can cross easily and safely to the other side to maintain the towers and equipment.
