For the second time in the last two weeks the Essex Community has been shocked by the sudden and seemingly untimely death of one of her young farmers and returned Soldiers. Only last week one of her returning Soldiers was sitting under a tree in the yard of his country home waiting for a shower to pass. He was a victim of a bolt of lightning being instantly killed. On Saturday of the past week Raymond Hagglund the 21 year old son of Mr & Mrs Lenus Hagglund was killed almost instantly when the team he was driving ran away with him. The young man was working on a farm about 3 miles west of Essex. Essex was to have held a big celebration the first of this week in the Honor of the returned Soldiers and Sailers, but the sudden violent deaths of these two young Soldiers has not made the people of the Community feel like celebtating and the festivities have been called off for a time at least.
